“The contest was over and while everyone was waiting for the winner to be announced an impromptu jump ramp session got underway. This contest was held in a parking lot and there were no fences to keep spectators out, shit, I don’t even thing their was security on site. Fuck, it was a glorious time to be a skater. So a bunch of people are hitting the kicker while a line of pros and spectators lined the runway to be right up in the action. Mike was blasting these so high, you can tell because everyone is looking upward while he launches a perfect Japan air like it was 1988!”
