In the 1990s there were so many spots to skate in downtown San Diego, especially in the early part of the decade. For the most part, downtown was pretty much of a ghost town once everyone headed home from work (hardly anyone that worked down there lived in the zone), so with the lack of cars, business owner and pedestrians most spots were a go. That was until 1999 when the whole area was torn down and revitalized with a new ballpark, restaurants, hotels and tourists galore. Oh, I can’t forget condos for all the yuppies to live in. Anyway, this rail near Horton Plaza had a short skate lifespan and I’m glad I got to shoot this photo of Chad Muska Five-0 grinding it before he became The Muska. Either way, Chad is a great dude.
